House of Stone Charitable Organization's
three-fold mission:
1. To support both young and established Zimbabwean artists by purchasing sculpture at fair trade prices and presenting their work to an international marketplace,
2. To raise awareness in the U.S. about the present African HIV/AIDS crisis, and
3. To provide financial support for sustainable, community-initiated, and culturally-sensitive projects supporting children impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa.

Zimbabwe, a Shona word, translates literally to “House of Stone.”
In addition, our organization’s name conveys images of both the endurance and stability of the homes that we hope to help provide for Zimbabwean children and of the stones from which modern Zimbabwean sculpture is carved.
To see how House of Stone began, see our History (coming soon).
Special thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, who made the purchase of our first collection of sculptures possible. This seed money will allow us to begin a funding cycle, investing a small portion of art sales towards the purchase of additional artwork for future sales and auctions. Ultimately, all proceeds will directly benefit the children of Zimbabwe.
House of Stone Charitable Organization has no religious or institutional
affiliations. |
